The new hotel in Marievik will become the heart of the district, a central meeting place offering an inspiring environment for both work and relaxation. Designed by the acclaimed French architect Manuelle Gautrand, this iconic building will play a key role in revitalizing the area and creating life around the clock. With its simple and minimalist concept, which simultaneously plays with volumes and celebrates postmodern architecture, the hotel will become a symbol of modern elegance and creativity
The planned hotel will add vibrancy and atmosphere to Marievik as a natural meeting place for everyone working or staying in the area. The offices here will offer accommodation for visiting clients, services, and the opportunity to hold meetings and conferences in an inspiring environment. The hotel will also be able to offer good food, drinks, and other experiences such as a spa, exhibitions, and a lively stage for music and other performances. The ambition is to make the hotel an attractive destination even for more distant guests who have traveled here to experience Stockholm and an exciting, bustling part of the capital. The goal of the hotel is to make the entire Marievik a welcoming place with an international profile that is alive every day, early and late. Green spaces, such as gardens and terraces, will be created to bring life to the hotel building, along with a swimming pool and other facilities.

Marievik is beautifully situated by the waters of Årstaviken. Here, postmodern buildings come to life as a vibrant, circular district emerges. In the development of Marievik, cars take a step back and people are placed at the center. In the coming years, restaurants, bars, culture, and parks will be added, creating a dynamic and inviting environment for workers, residents, and visitors alike.
Former backstreets are transformed into exciting side streets with small shops and outdoor cafes, giving the area a unique charm and character, along with the destination hotel that will form the heart of the district. Here, space will be made for the small-scale, experimental, and creative, with a colorful mix of, for example, studios, vintage clothing, bicycle workshops, and community centers. Marievik is already a perfect place to test business ideas and start new ventures, and as the area develops, its profile will become even clearer.
Several international companies have long been represented in Marievik, including Pernod Ricard and Heidelberg Cement. And more are on the way. The languages heard along a quay walk or at a visit to one of the eateries are many. The area’s status as an international meeting place will become even clearer when the planned hotel opens. A place not only for accommodation for long-distance guests but also for meetings, recreation, food, drinks, and entertainment.
Getting to and from Marievik mostly depends on your preferred mode of transport. On foot, you can reach Liljeholmen in four minutes. Here, you’ll find a mall with a wide range of shops, restaurants, and services. You also have access to both red lines of the subway from here, a variety of bus lines, and the Tvärbanan, which stops in Årstadal very close to Marievik and Årstaberg, where you can also connect to the commuter train. If you’re heading to Arlanda or Bromma, the airport buses are conveniently nearby. If you want to move towards Hornstull, it’s just a few minutes’ walk with a view from Liljeholmsbron. Perfect for a city-close destination hotel that aims to attract both tourists and Stockholmers on staycation.
