Circular Marievik

We move forward in circles

In Marievik, we move forward in circles. This is where our vision of sustainability, reuse, and urban life takes physical form. We don’t build new just for the sake of it — we build on what already exists. After all, the most sustainable building is the one that’s already been built. By reusing, transforming, and enhancing existing structures, we create a district that benefits both people and the planet.

Monuments on a Tray — Architecture with Identity

Marievik is not just a place with buildings — it’s a place with stories. A cluster of postmodern office buildings that together form an architectural family tree. Each building is a monument — not in size, but in expression. Colorful, playful, sometimes contradictory. It’s a place where variation is strategy, and contrasts spark interest and create space for new narratives.

The phrase “Monuments on a tray” captures the essence: a collection of architectural individuals forming a cohesive whole. Here, the unexpected is welcomed — a round window in a strict grid, a glass bridge connecting two buildings, a turquoise tiled façade sparkling in the sun. It’s architecture that dares to be both ironic and serious, functional and symbolic.

Reuse as an architectural strategy

In Marievik, we build for the future by avoiding unnecessary demolition. We preserve the soul of the buildings, enhance their character, and add new “growth rings” — contemporary expressions that respect the historic. Materials such as mirrored glass, brick, tile, and metal are given new life, while we also experiment with bio-based walls, hemp insulation, and zero-impact cement.

Every construction project undergoes climate impact calculations, and building components are inventoried for reuse. It’s a circular approach that reduces emissions, saves resources, and preserves the identity of the place. Kakelhuset, Modehuset, and Signalhuset are just a few examples of how postmodern architecture is being revitalized — with careful hands and a clear vision.

Life on site in focus

Marievik is not just a place to work — it’s a place to live. By opening up the ground floors to restaurants, cultural venues, services, and meeting spaces, a vibrant city life unfolds from morning to evening. This is where the city’s pulse finds a heart, and where people meet, move, and thrive.

A city you can feel — and that makes a difference

Marievik is a monument from another time — and now it is being given new life. It’s a district where history meets the future, where sustainability is a strategy, and where architecture is part of people’s everyday lives. A place where diversity is a strength, and where every building expresses something greater.
