2023 April
The detailed development plan for Marievik becomes legally binding
All streets, the park, and the waterfront are being upgraded. Several buildings are gaining opportunities for additional floors, and ground floors are being opened up to create more life. The detailed development plan marks the starting signal for a new district with its own identity.

2023 September
The development of Urverket begins
The development of the Urverket property in Marievik is underway. The building, dating back to 1944 and known for the clock on its roof, is being modernized and renovated to meet today’s office needs. It will house offices, educational facilities, and a gym. The project is scheduled to continue until spring 2025.

2024 Juni
The Marievik quay opens up!
The quay reopens after renovations. Ahead of summer, it is filled with plantings from Karshamra Gård, games, and furniture designed by Studio Era. Plåtparken brings a lively buzz to Marievik, where people gather, eat, visit the market, and enjoy the sauna by Årstaviken.

2024 September
Development of Kakelhuset begins
The development of the iconic Kakelhuset is now underway. Here, postmodern architecture, sustainability, and unbeatable views come together. In this innovative project, the limits are being tested on how much of a building can be reused and preserved without compromising a top-class office environment.

2025 Juni
Stockholm’s first quay pool — Marieviksbadet opens!
Marieviksbadet is finally opening! On June 14 at 11:00 AM, a press inauguration and handover of the pool to the city will take place. At 12:00 PM, the pool opens to everyone, and visitors can take a first swim in Stockholm’s first quay pool. To celebrate, AMF Fastigheter, JM, and Klövern will offer ice cream and coffee at Plåtparken to the first bathers.

2025 September
Development of Signalhuset begins
Signalhuset Gets a New Life! Instead of building new, we are preserving the building’s colorful 1990s architecture and expanding it with modern, sustainable materials. Here, the offices of the future are being created — with reuse, environmental certification, and a design that inspires creativity.

2026 Mars
Kakelhuset ready for occupancy
The ground floors of Kakelhuset open up to the waterfront, filled with restaurants, cafés, and shared spaces — a place for both meetings and breaks. For those who want a swim by the pier, the building offers a sauna and changing rooms, perfect for an active workday close to nature.

Construction begins on the destination hotel
Construction of the new hotel in Marievik will begin in 2026. The hotel will feature approximately 180 rooms and become a central part of the ongoing urban development in the area, including a restaurant, spa, pool, co-working spaces, and a rooftop garden.

Marievik park and the pavilion are complete!
By spring, Marievik Park will finally be complete. Together with Kakelhuset and the newly renovated pavilion in Modehuset, it will become a hub for even more culture as a new live stage opens its doors!
2027 Juni
Milleniestråket and Milleniumhuset are under development
Milleniumhuset, an architectural landmark from 2000, is set for a major transformation. In 2027, the building will be developed with additional floors, more open ground levels, and modern office spaces — all with a focus on preserving the building’s character and enhancing its role as the gateway to Marievik. Milleniestråket, the area’s main artery, will also receive a significant upgrade.

2027 Oktober
Move-in begins for the first homes at Marievik’s peninsula
The first homes built by JM at Marievik’s Peninsula are now ready for move-in. In the Mary block, 135 newly constructed apartments offer an unbeatable waterfront location — directly opposite Södermalm, with Marievik’s quay promenade right outside the door. The project includes a 27-story high-rise and a lower seven-story quay building, with balconies facing every direction.

2029 Juni
The destination hotel opens!
With its 180 rooms and unique architecture, it’s finally time to inaugurate the new destination hotel in Marievik. Designed by French architect Manuelle Gautrand, Stockholm now has a new landmark featuring a pool, rooftop bar, and restaurants right in the heart of Marievik.
